co-sponsor several fishing events to introduce families to the great sport of
angling. These events also serve to promote Fish Orlando!’s opportunities to the
more advanced fishers.
While our annual events certainly keep us busy, at times we will also have other one-time promotional events to highlight the opportunities at Fish Orlando! water bodies. In the past we have had a FAB FIVE unveiling ceremony at Turkey Lake, a grand opening Fish Orlando fund raising event at BASS PRO SHOPS ORLANDO complete with Orlando Magic cheer leaders and country music star John Anderson; a media/VIP bass tournament at Turkey Lake announcing the BASS PRO SHOPS and CITY OF ORLANDO boat loaner program and a Z88.3 FM Scott and Lisa (voted Orlando’s most popular DJ’s) fish-off at Turkey Lake promoting the 5th Annual Big Catch Event. See the FWC Fish Orlando! Calendar of Events below, which gives dates and times, etc. of the annual events. For information on one-time promotional events call our office at 352/732-1225 ext. Other promotions: As mentioned in the overview, our mission is to provide and promote quality fishing opportunities in the greater Orlando area. While events are one good promotional medium, other vehicles we use to inform our constituents and potential new constituents of Fish Orlando opportunities are: articles in the newspaper, features in magazines, spots on the radio and T.V., roadside banners and signs, inserts in utility bills, a kiosk at BASS PRO SHOPS ORLANDO, quality brochures placed in areas frequented by area visitors, kiosks at the water bodies, Fish Orlando! Fishing Maps, Fish Orlando! Highlights (a newsletter) and presentations/displays at retail fishing outlets, outdoor expos and public events.
