New! Attention: It is the goal of the FWC to develop and maintain the best regulations possible that provide for public safety, animal welfare, and the legitimate use of wildlife for personal, educational or exhibition purposes. During 2007, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission passed several regulations that effect captive wildlife owners or possessors. These regulations become effective January 1, 2008, unless otherwise stated in the attached synopsis. These rules are based on the input, assistance and dedicated efforts of the Captive Wildlife Technical Assistance Group, captive wildlife licensees, various stake holder groups, members of the public and FWC staff. For more information, please read the Synopsis of regulation changes and the Appendices. Attention: The FWC has created a Captive Wildlife Technical Assistance Group comprised of 11 experts to review captive wildlife regulations and address current captive wildlife issues. Group members were selected based on their diverse background and areas of expertise. The experience possessed by group members represents all facets of the captive wildlife industry and wildlife rehabilitation. Read More Information.
