Piranha teeth are organized in one row, and are very sharp, note the tricuspid form of the teeth in the top row.  When closed they create a shearing action allowing pieces of flesh to be cleanly extricated.

Pacu teeth are molar-like and although they may have cusps are designed to crush plant material.
