The census bureau has a wide variety of useful statistics including the National Survey of Hunting, Fishing & Outdoor Recreation 1991, and 1996 editions. WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICTS: Water Management Districts (WMDs) play a vital role in fisheries by regulating the quantity of water and timing of discharges. In addition, much of the vegetation control in the state is managed by the Districts and several very important reservoirs and water conservation areas were created and are maintained by district activities.
