Little-Big Econ State Forest and Wildlife Management Area
Great Florida Birding Trail site

Description:
Paddle the interpretive canoe trail on the Econlockhatchee River that runs through this park, or hike, horseback ride or bike the trails that traverse live oak hammock, river swamp, and prairie. Three trailhead parking areas have been established. Hunting is permitted on the Kilbee Tract only. Non-hunters are encouraged to check the Wildlife Management Area regulations and seasonal hunt dates before visiting the Kilbee Tract.

Watchable Wildlife:
Watch along trails for gray fox, white-tailed deer, wild turkey and bobcat. Alligators, river otters, migratory waterfowl, wood storks, limpkins, and herons and egrets are found in the wetlands and the river. Other common sightings include sandhill cranes (in surrounding pasture land), bald eagles, ospreys, and hawks. Watch for swallow-tailed kites (March through July).

Directions:
Little-Big Econ State Forest is located in Seminole County, 3.3 miles east of the town of Oviedo on CR 426. Hunting is permitted in the Kilbee Tract, a separate tract located to the east off of SR 46.
