Description: Pine flatwoods, sandhills, hardwood hammock, cypress and river swamp, and freshwater marshes are only a few of the dozen plant communities that occur on this site. The park is bounded on the northwest and south by the Pithlachascottee and Anclote rivers. There is a 1.3-mile self-guided trail, eight miles of horse trails, thirteen miles of hiking trails, and a three mile bike path. Watchable wildlife: Wild turkey, white-tailed deer, gopher tortoises, eastern bluebirds, brown-headed nuthatches, Bachman's sparrows, fox squirrels, and sandhill cranes are common. Nearly 150 species of birds have been identified in the park to date. Ownership: South West Florida Water Management District; managed by Pasco County
