American Fisheries Society
The AFS is an international professional and scientific organization of more than 8,500 fisheries managers and scientists. The web site contains many useful links and information on jobs in the Fisheries profession. Articles from "Fisheries" and the "AFS Diary" provide useful information about important up-to-date fisheries issues. The
Florida Chapter has their own separate Shellcracker site.
American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists
The ASIH is dedicated to the scientific study of fishes, amphibians and reptiles. The web site contains information on the society, careers, and its publications.
American Society of Limnology and Oceanography
This web site provides links to much of the current research on how lakes function and age.
American Sportfishing Association
The ASA includes members from every aspect of the sportfishing industry including tackle manufacturers, retailers, fisheries managers and sporting groups. The web site explains their programs and efforts to help sustain and improve fisheries.
Aquaculture Network, Information Center
An outstanding site for learning about the culture of various fish. There is a searchable data base for entry level information about many fish that are raised in an aquaculture setting. Photos, videos and slides are available for download.

International Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies
The IAFWA is an association of all 50 state's fish and wildlife agencies, with links to them, along with other members interested in fish and wildlife conservation. Their site includes hot news from Washington DC on related issues.
The International Game Fish Association
The IGFA site provides information on the Association and how to register record fishes by line class. Also note they have a 10-pound bass club, which is an excellent supplement to the FWC's own "Big Catch Program".
The Izaak Walton League
The IWLA is one of the oldest conservation groups in America. It is a diverse group of 50,000 men and women dedicated to protecting our nation's soil, air, woods, waters and wildlife.
National Fishing Week Organization
The National Fishing Week Organization helps promote fishing by coordinating national efforts to commemorate National Fishing Week, which is generally the first week of June. Almost all states have free fishing days and numerous events that are listed on this central data base.

NANFA is dedicated to the enjoyment, study and conservation of the continent's native fishes.
