A Daily-Use Permit is required to enter this area, unless you have purchased a Wildlife Management Area Permit. To hunt or fish you must also possess the appropriate license and permit.

Facilities

Intrepretive kiosks are located at the main Chassahowitzka entrance and at the Indigo Road trailhead. Picnic facilities are located here as well. The Chassahowitzka Recreation Guide is a useful resource when visiting this area.

Public Access

All persons must enter and exit management area only at designated entrances (see map - pdf file).  Pick up a Chassahowitzka Driving Tour Guide and tour the area in comfort. Vehicle use regulations.

Location

Coastal Hernado County, from I-75 take exit 61 SR 50 west to US 19. Turn north and go approximately 9 miles to the entrance on the west side of US 19. The Weeki Wachee Tract entrance is on the South side of CR 550 (an extension of SR 50 west of US 19).
