Description: Two self-guided trails at the north entrance of the park offer views of the river, an oak hammock, and a longleaf-turkey oak sandhill community. Nine springs feed the beautiful Ichetucknee River, which flows for six miles until it joins the Santa Fe River. Watchable wildlife: Your best chance of seeing wildlife is to float quietly in a canoe or rented tube down the river, keeping an eye out for limpkin, wood duck, river otter, or beaver. A hike through the oak hammock or on the trail through the sandhills may bring you face to face with a white-tailed deer. Ownership: Department of Environmental Protection Contact: |
