Description:
San Felasco is considered one of the finest woodlands in north Florida and includes limestone outcrops, sinkholes, hardwood hammocks, longleaf pine forests, and Sanchez Prairieľa large basin forested with planar and pop ash trees. There are many champion trees and rare plants.

Watchable wildlife:
The diversity of plant communities provides ample habitat for bobcat, gray fox, white-tailed deer, songbirds, and wild turkey. Summer breeding birds (May through August) include wood thrush, hooded warblers, and prothonotary warblers. Fall and spring migrations bring American redstart, blackpoll warbler, black-throated blue warbler, ovenbird, and yellow-bellied sapsucker. Migratory waterfowl, including teal, wood ducks, and mallards, can be seen on the ponds November through April.
