Description:
Canoe the
Hillsborough River or walk 8 miles of nature trails, which include three
short trails and the longer Florida Trail loop on the north side of the
river. The park features the river, pine flatwoods, cypress swamps,
freshwater swamps and hammocks with live oak, sabal palm and hickory.
Watchable Wildlife:
Along the river, look for
otters, alligators, turtles and snakes. On early morning walks along the
trails, you may see raccoons, striped skunks, deer, bobcat and fox. Check
for migratory warblers in the oak hammocks in the spring and fall.

Directions:
Hillsborough River
State Park is located 9 miles north of Tampa and 6 miles south of
Zephyrhills on US 301. From 1-75, take exit 54 (SR 582) and go east 1 mile
to US 301. Turn left onto US 301 and travel northeast for 9 miles to park
entrance on the left.
